While reading Kayleigh’s blogpost about why she’s excited for autumn, I thought I could easy fill an article about why I’m excited for the pumkin season too! Even though I can find a little charm in any season, autumn has become my favourite. Summer’s been nice but I’m kinda ready for some colder weather, tea and some more structure in my life… So there we go!

Sweater weather

Summer clothes are nice, but I tent to feel quite self conscious about the way I look when I reveal too much skin… I prefer layering clothes and obviously sweaters are one of my favourite fashion items. They’re just so comfortable and I think they look great on anyone!

Tea and coffee

Okay, okay, I drink tea and coffee during the whole year. But it just tastes better in autumn when the weather is cold outside! Especially when I get to university I love my cup of coffee and while cuddled up on the sofa with my blanket I need a cup of tea to warm me up too.

University

Call me a nerd but I’m super excited for university to start again. (Oh boy, will I regret writing this when I’m crying over my coursework in a couple of months…). I start my last year of my English and Creative Writing degree and I’ve absolutely loved the two previous years. Being able to study what I love is absolutely amazing and I’m incredibly motivated to work hard this year. Also a little bit of structure in my life would be great, I’ve been sleeping in and staying up way too late since university ended last May.

Halloween

In the Netherlands we don’t really celebrate Halloween. Ever since I moved to England I’ve been loving this holiday so, so, so much! I’ve always seen Halloween themed episodes of tv-shows and was always disappointed that somehow the Dutch don’t participate in celebrating this amazing holiday. Cannot wait to decorate my new flat and pick out my costume!

Cozy evenings

One of my favourite things about autumn is being able to cuddle up on the sofa with a blanket, a cup of tea and a good video game or a tv-show. Especially when it’s dark and cold outside and I can get all cosy and enjoy a lovely evening at home.

What about you guys?
Are you excited for autumn?
Or are you going to miss summer?

  1. Yes girl! These are some amazing reasons to enjoy autumn! I’m a big Halloween fan too, I had no idea it wasn’t really celebrated in the Netherlands. Good luck with university x

  2. I love Autumn, probably my fave season alongside winter for the very reasons you mention in this post! I love getting cozy and I own so many sweaters, legit have a collection haha, so it works great. Thanks for sharing, really liked this post, short and sweet x

  3. I’m so excited for autumn as well! I love summer, but after getting so much heat here in Germany I’m ready to pack away my dresses and crack out my comfy sweaters! Also cannot wait for long evenings with tea spent on my sofa reading while the rain drums against the window.
Starting uni in October makes me really nervous, tho. I’m studying English and Social Studies to become a high school teacher, and everything’s going to be so different! Also, good luck with starting uni again as well 🙂

  4. Hi, fab first picture which captures autumn nicely. I also love this time of year but hope it’s delayed becuse the last month of summer has been naff. The tea in your photo looks perfect to me, I drink it all year though whatever the weather.

  5. Cozy evenings and sweater weather are two of my favorite things about autumn too! I think the cozy feeling in general is the best part of the season. And I’m totally looking forward to Halloween too!

  6. Autumn is by far my favourite season too, closely followed by Spring. I love the transitional seasons as they have such varied and interesting weather, but I always feel so inspired creatively during Autumn, when the leaves litter the floor and the nights draw to a close at a decent time.
Oh, and I completely vibe with you on how Cups of tea are better in Autumn when it’s cold outside.
Brilliant post, it’s got me so ready for cosy jumpers time.

  7. So autumn isn’t my favorite season but I share your love of Halloween. I think it’s the dressing up that’s the fun part! Every year I try to come up with a costume that’s even cooler. Plus I love all the Halloween specials!

  8. The biggest reason I’m excited for fall is moving back to Tallinn and going to school again too! However, fall is pretty great overall! 🙂

  9. Girl i just posted today about Autumn! It’s literally the most amazing season ever. I’m in love with long jumpers & colorful leaves.

  10. All tese reasons are the reasons I love Autumn too! The cosy evenings especially when you get to cuddle up in a blanket with tea and a good book! Also I love your blog can’t believe i just discovered it!

  11. I’m so excited for cosy evenings as well! It doesn’t feel right lighting candles and layering your bed up with blankets, I feel like autumn is a good excuse for lying in bed all day as well…. Also can’t beat going shopping and buying loads of Autumn/winter clothes and new pjs!

  12. I love the Autumn season too! I do love winter though so I can’t decide which is my favourite!
These reasons though are honestly perfect! Apart from the fact that I manage to drink tea all year round! I just love a good cuppa! I really want to go back to college too! I need that structure. i’m a little lost at the moment not really sure what to do with myself!

    • Winter’s really nice too, indeed! Manchester just gets really rainy and cold during winter so that’s a bit of a shame 🙁 I wish we’d get snow, that’d make winter so much better!
Hahaha I’m so glad someone understands the need to go back to school haha! I’ve been busy all summer, but I hate not having a proper schedule!

  13. i like autumn too (every sentence start with this) XD
i don’t like the hot weather here in germany. maybe i am born in the netherlands too. i like autumn because of the weather. not so warm. more colder then spring. i like the rain and the wind. it feels like home. like den haag. and there is less mosquitos too 🙂
and i can wear more suitable clothes that i like.
and i think autumn is most creative time of the year. sitting somewhere enjoy your warm drink. the nature changing rain dripping at the windows. don’t you agree?

  14. I definitely prefer autumn and winter over summer. Similarly to you, I don’t like summer fashion as I don’t really like wearing shorts and tank tops as I’m quite insecure about my body. Also I love Halloween and I’m super excited for it this year and like you can’t wait to get back to uni for some structure, glad I’m not the only one <3

    Lots of love,
